With tax revenue declining as a result of the recession and budget reserves largely drained, the vast majority of states are making spending cuts… At least 34 states have implemented cuts to public colleges and universities and/or made large increases in college tuition to make up for insufficient state funding.

With our nation in an economic crisis, the public education system is taking the hit. When the public education system suffers, the next generation suffers the most.
We believe that American students should have an opportunity to see The End of Poverty?, especially those who cannot afford to do so. We know it’s the next generation that must make the difference.
We are looking for generous people to purchase tickets in the confirmed markets to be given to student groups to go see the film in theatres. (We will contact University student groups in each market as well as solicit groups to register to receive these tickets.)
Since most theatres recognize a group as 25 or more and then provide a discounted ticket price, we ask that you donate at least $200.00 (25 theatre tickets). And we are offering some incentives – see below!
Your contribution will only be used to buy tickets for sponsored groups and is not tax deductable.
If your donation is exactly or over one of the following amounts, you will receive the items listed when they are available.
$200 (25 tickets) – 50% off one entire purchase at Cinema Libre Store, a copy of The End of Poverty? on DVD when available in Spring 2010 plus one (1) DVD distributed by Cinema Libre Studio. (Gift includes taxes and delivery fees.)
$400 (50 tickets) – 50% off one entire purchase at Cinema Libre Store, a copy of The End of Poverty? on DVD when available in Spring 2010 plus five (5) DVDs distributed by Cinema Libre Studio. (Gift includes taxes and delivery fees.)
$800 (100 tickets) – 50% off one entire purchase at Cinema Libre Store, a copy of The End of Poverty? on DVD when available in Spring 2010 plus five (5) DVDs distributed by Cinema Libre Studio and the companion book, “Why Global Poverty?.” (Gift includes taxes and delivery fees.)
Once we pair up your donation with a student or youth group, we will let you know what group your donation is benefiting (for donations of $200 or more, see the FAQ’s for more info). We will give your mailing address to the student or youth group so that they may send you a thank you note if they please. If you do not want your mailing address given to the student or youth group, please say so in the comments box in the donation form below.
Shortly after making a donation, your name will appear on the Pledge a Group page. If you do not want your name to appear on our website, please say so in the comments box in the donation registration form below.
HOW TO DONATE:
1. Fill out the registration form below with your contact information.
2. Make your donation.
a. Paypal: Fill out the Paypal form below and follow the instructions to make a donation using your paypal account or a debit/credit card.
b. Check: Mail your check to Cinema Libre Studio (To: Cinema Libre Studio, Memo: Group Tickets Sponsorship). Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, and email address in the envelope.
